Maintenance

This section outlines the basic maintenance requirements for the BreathTrailer to ensure safe operation, system reliability, and long-term durability.

Regular maintenance helps prevent faults, extends component life, and ensures the trailer remains in good working condition.


General Maintenance Guidelines

  • Perform regular visual inspections of all systems.
  • Address any faults or damage before using the trailer.
  • Use only approved replacement parts and accessories.
  • Maintenance should be carried out by a qualified or authorised technician when required.

Coupling & Towing Components

Regularly inspect: - Trailer coupling for wear or damage - Safety chains and attachment points - Jockey wheel operation - Handbrake operation

Lubricate moving parts as recommended and replace worn components promptly.


Electrical System Maintenance

  • Inspect electrical cables, plugs, and connections for damage.
  • Check the condition of the 15A power lead.
  • Ensure battery terminals are clean and secure.
  • Monitor battery health and charging performance.

⚠️ Do not attempt electrical repairs unless qualified.


Battery Maintenance

  • Keep battery terminals clean and free from corrosion.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation around the battery box.
  • Avoid deep discharging the battery whenever possible.
  • Recharge the battery regularly using solar or camp site power.

Gas System Maintenance

  • Inspect LPG hoses and regulators for signs of wear or damage.
  • Ensure all gas connections are tight and leak-free.
  • Replace gas components according to manufacturer recommendations.

⚠️ Gas system servicing must be carried out by a licensed technician.


Water System Maintenance

  • Inspect water hoses and fittings for leaks.
  • Clean water tanks periodically to maintain water quality.
  • Drain water systems before long-term storage.
  • Check drain valves for correct operation.

Awning & Outdoor Equipment

  • Inspect awning fabric and stitching for wear.
  • Check mounting brackets and fasteners regularly.
  • Clean awnings and shower tents after use.
  • Ensure all outdoor equipment is completely dry before storage.

Storage & Long-Term Care

If the trailer will not be used for an extended period:

  • Disconnect all power sources
  • Turn off the main 12V power switch
  • Drain water tanks and lines
  • Store power leads and accessories in a dry location
  • Protect the trailer from extreme weather if possible
