Awning – Kings 180° / 270°
This section explains how to safely set up, pack away, and care for the Kings 180° or 270° Awning installed on the BreathTrailer.
Correct use of the awning ensures safety, durability, and reliable performance in outdoor conditions.
General Safety Information
⚠️ Always ensure the vehicle is stationary with the handbrake applied before setting up or packing away the awning.
⚠️ Do not deploy the awning in strong winds or extreme weather conditions.
Failure to follow these guidelines may result in equipment damage or personal injury.
Awning Setup Instructions
Follow these steps to set up the awning:
- Ensure the trailer and tow vehicle are stationary and the handbrake is applied.
- Undo the zipper on the awning storage bag.
- Fold the top section of the awning bag over the mounting brackets.
- Allow the bottom section of the awning bag to hang freely.
- Undo all Velcro straps, starting from the rear of the awning.
- Gently roll the awning down, allowing it to hang.
- Attach the tension strap with carabiner to the cam buckle on the awning square pole.
- While holding the tension strap, walk in an arc around the rear of the trailer, allowing the awning to rotate into position.
- Once fully unfolded, hook the tension strap onto a suitable mounting point on the vehicle or trailer.
- Adjust the cam buckle to tension the canvas until it is tight and secure.
✔️ The awning is now fully set up.
Awning Pack-Up Instructions
Before packing away, ensure the area around the awning is clear of obstacles and trip hazards.
- Loosen the tension strap and unhook it from the vehicle.
- Begin folding the awning back toward its stored position.
- Ensure the canvas is folded neatly while hanging.
- Once fully rotated into the closed position, roll the canvas upward starting from the bottom.
- Secure the rolled canvas using the hook-and-loop (Velcro) straps.
- Ensure the awning is secure and fully zip the awning storage bag closed.
Weather Warnings
⚠️ If strong winds or extreme weather are approaching: - Pack away the awning immediately. - Use two people if necessary to safely control the awning.
⚠️ Avoid packing away the awning when wet.
If the awning must be packed wet, open it again and allow it to fully dry as soon as possible.
Care & Maintenance
To ensure long-term durability:
- Clean the awning using cold water and a soft brush only
- Do not use soap, detergents, petrol, oil, or solvents
- Avoid creating sharp creases when packing the awning
- Always allow the awning to dry completely before long-term storage
- Regularly inspect pivot points, fasteners, and mounting brackets
