Solar Power System

This section explains how the solar power system operates in the BreathTrailer and how it contributes to battery charging during off-grid use.

The solar system is designed to work automatically and requires minimal user interaction.

Solar System Overview

The BreathTrailer is equipped with a roof-mounted solar panel that charges the battery whenever sunlight is available.

Solar charging is managed automatically by the installed charging controller and does not require manual adjustment.

Roof-Mounted Solar Panel

  • Mounted on top of the trailer
  • Charges the battery continuously during daylight hours
  • Automatically starts and stops based on sunlight availability

☀️ Solar charging efficiency depends on weather conditions, sun angle, and panel cleanliness.

Automatic Operation

  • No switches or settings are required to enable solar charging
  • The system automatically prioritises safe and efficient battery charging
  • Solar charging can operate simultaneously with other charging sources

Extra Solar Input (Solar Blanket)

An Anderson plug is installed on the battery box to allow connection of an additional solar input.

Using the Extra Solar Input

  • Connect the supplied solar blanket to the Anderson plug
  • This increases total solar input and allows faster battery charging
  • Roof solar and solar blanket can operate together

✔️ Extra solar input is recommended when staying off-grid for extended periods.

Solar Charging Tips

To maximise solar charging performance:

  • Park the trailer in direct sunlight when possible
  • Keep the solar panel clean and free of debris
  • Use the solar blanket to supplement roof solar when required
  • Monitor battery level regularly

Important Notes

  • Do not connect unapproved solar panels or power sources.
  • Ensure correct polarity when connecting external solar inputs.
  • Solar charging may be reduced in shaded areas or during poor weather.

⚠️ Incorrect solar connections may damage the charging system.

Proper use of the solar power system helps maintain battery charge and supports reliable off-grid operation of your BreathTrailer.
