12V Power System
This section explains how the 12V power system operates in the BreathTrailer and which components are supplied directly from the battery.
The 12V system is the primary power system used during off-grid operation.
12V Power Overview
All 12V power in the BreathTrailer is supplied directly from the battery.
The 12V system operates independently from camp site power and remains available as long as the battery has sufficient charge.
12V Powered Components
The following components operate on 12V power:
- Interior lighting
- LED light bars
- Fridge (12V)
- Water pump
- Fans
- USB charging outlets (if equipped)
✔️ These systems are available even when the trailer is not connected to camp site power.
Main 12V Power Switch
A main 12V power switch is located inside the trailer box.
Operation
- Switch ON to supply power to all 12V systems
- Switch OFF to isolate 12V power when the trailer is not in use
Turning off the main 12V switch helps prevent unnecessary battery discharge.
Battery Dependency
Because all 12V systems are powered by the battery:
- Battery charge level directly affects system availability
- High or continuous usage will reduce battery capacity
- Regular charging via solar or camp site power is recommended
Power Management Tips
To maximise battery life and system reliability:
- Turn off unused lights and accessories
- Monitor battery level daily
- Use solar charging whenever possible
- Avoid running high loads for extended periods
Important Notes
- The 12V system is designed for low-voltage DC operation only.
- Do not connect 240V appliances to 12V outlets.
- Do not modify wiring or connections without authorisation.
⚠️ Improper use or modification of the 12V system may cause damage or unsafe operation.
Correct use of the 12V power system ensures reliable off-grid performance and long-term durability of your BreathTrailer.
