This section contains important safety instructions for the safe operation, towing, and use of your BreathTrailer.
⚠️ Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury, equipment damage, or loss of warranty.
General Safety Guidelines
- Always read and understand this manual before using the trailer.
- Only operate the trailer and its systems as described in this manual.
- Do not modify or alter any installed system unless approved by an authorised technician.
- Keep this manual accessible at all times.
Towing & Road Safety
- Always ensure the trailer coupling is correctly locked onto a 50mm tow ball.
- Safety chains must be attached and crossed underneath the coupling.
- Ensure the trailer handbrake is fully released before towing.
- Verify that the electrical plug is connected and functioning correctly.
- Never exceed the trailer’s rated towing or load limits.
- Drive at safe speeds suitable for road and weather conditions.
⚠️ Never tow the trailer with the handbrake engaged.
Electrical Safety
- 12V and 240V systems operate differently and must be used correctly.
- Always check the power selector switch position before using 240V outlets.
- Do not use damaged cables, plugs, or electrical equipment.
- Do not overload the inverter.
- High-power appliances such as kettles, heaters, air fryers, and hair dryers must not be used with the inverter.
⚠️ Improper electrical use may cause system shutdown or damage.
Battery Safety
- Batteries must not be exposed to excessive heat, water, or physical damage.
- Ensure adequate ventilation around battery systems.
- Do not short-circuit battery terminals.
- Turn off unused electrical systems to prevent excessive battery discharge.
Gas Safety
- Only use approved LPG gas cylinders with the correct Australian-standard connection.
- Ensure gas connections are secure before use.
- Never operate gas appliances in enclosed or poorly ventilated spaces.
- Turn off gas supply when the hot water system is not in use.
⚠️ Gas misuse can result in serious injury or fire.
Water System Safety
- Ensure the water pump is switched ON only when water is available in the system.
- Do not operate the pump dry for extended periods.
- Drain water systems when required, especially before long-term storage.
Awning & Outdoor Equipment Safety
- Do not deploy awnings in strong winds or extreme weather.
- Ensure the vehicle is stationary with the handbrake applied before setup.
- Always pack away awnings and tents immediately if weather conditions worsen.
Maintenance & Inspection
- Regularly inspect the coupling, safety chains, electrical connections, and gas fittings.
- Address any damage or faults before using the trailer.
- Only use authorised parts and service providers.
Emergency Situations
- In the event of electrical, gas, or water system failure, switch off the affected system immediately.
- If a fire risk is suspected, disconnect power and gas supplies if safe to do so.
- Seek professional assistance before resuming use.
By following these safety guidelines, you help ensure safe operation, system reliability, and long-term performance of your BreathTrailer.
